2008 Olympics - Pictograms
I love clean and clear visual design/communication.

I think the 2008 Olympic Pictograms are some of the best I have seen.

The USA has voted that this should be the 2008 Olympics SWIMMING Pictogram :P .... she's every woman's hero in America.  Yes, it is possible to look like this when you are over 40!

Speaking of design, here's another interesting one, which was taken off the air 2 weeks after it was launched, following angry parents complaints...

Wow, that one is unreal!

And while I don't love the idea of Olymoics in China in 2k8, comparing it with 1938 seems way too much.

Nir , the women is Dara Torres (AGED 41!!)  she will be the first swimmer from the United States to compete in five Olympics 1984, 1988, 1992, 2000, and 2008. She will compete in the Beijing in the 50 meter freestyle, 4 x 100 medley relay, and 4 x 100 freestyle relay.

So don't think you are over the hill at 40...

Dara Torres (American), 41 years old. She will be the oldest female swimmer in the 2008 Olympics. Her fifth Olympics (even though she sat out two of them).

Started her Olympic career in 1984 at age 17. She has nine Olympic medals.

She is just under six feet tall (182 cm) and weights 149 lbs (68 kg). You can guess at the percentage fat (my guess is max 5%).

That is what training can do.

It is also interesting that she does not have the wide shoulders of many of the other female swimmers. I would have said that she was more of beach volleyball body form.
