2nd hand furniture dealers in Geneva

When it comes time to leave this country it seems as if a lot of folks are either giving away their furniture or selling it dirt cheap.

So I'm wondering: aren't there any 2nd hand furniture dealers in Geneva, guys who will come and give an estimate to buy/remove everything?

Charity organizatiions such as the CSP and Caritas do not buy furniture or goods; they will only take away what they know they can sell easily and quickly because storage space is in short supply and insurance premiums are high..

There is a sizeable depot in Chêne-Bourg which does buy in but for very low prices because their own sell-on prices now have to be competiive given the popularity of IKEA and similar outlets and the fashion for change rather than purchases to last for generations.

However, it is still worth checking the “Classifieds” on this site and even posting notices in your local Migros, Coop, Denner, etc., particularly if you sell at bargain rates.  Be vigilant  when folk come to visit because there are some whose aim is to case the joint for a future visit when you're not at home.

Good luck, R.
