6:30
I wake up, open an eye, notice some sunlight… sudden panic ! My heart jumps high and stops. What time is it ? Have I missed the alarm clock ? Have I done it again ? No. Ahhhh, relax. Fall asleap again
6:45
Alarm clock runs. Is the electronic rooster ring really the best way to wake up ? Fall asleap again
7:00
Three loud beeps in fives minutes definitely wake me up. Mum sending me three times the same message “Aunt Monique Bday today, don’t forget to call her !”. What the hell is my mum doing up at 7am during her holidays at the Red Sea ? Let me sleeeeeeeep !
7:15
Fifteen minutes left to wake up, dress up and eat breakfast… for me and my son, who’s still asleep. That’s gonna by sport !
7:45
In the car, ready to go. Forty five minutes left to be at his school in Lausanne. Short but not impossible
8:15
Aubonne. Kids are allowed in at 8:30, but can arrive until 8:45, let’s use this jocker !
8.20
1 km from Morges. Traffic jam. Jesus chirst…
8:30
Morges highway exit. The highway is simply… closed ! “Accident” flashes on top of a beautiful police car, but no policeman seems to be willing to regulate the huge traffic congesting the poor small town and blocking the exit anyway.
8:45
We have moved exactly 250 meters in 15 minutes
8:50
How come some cars are actually entering the highway ?!? Got it. While I spend 20 minutes trying to exit the highway, they’ve just reopened it.
8:55
The accident is in fact on the other side of the highway. Our way was used only as an access point by rescue team. On the other lane, in a river of immobile care, people are out of their cars, phoning, smoking or even sunbathing. This means that my way back is doomed in advance.
9:05
Finally at destination. Big hug to my loved one, and kick “I’m sorry highway was closed by an accident” to the teacher… and head back to Geneva.
9:15
Smart me avoids the highway entrance, and take the lake side road
9:30
Stupid me realizes that lake side road is even worse than highway, and notice several police cars and two ambulances not far from a car out of the road. Rescuers movements remind me my CPR courses. Calling office to tell them I’m alive, and will eventually make it to the office before lunch
9:45
Back on the highway… still overloaded
10:35
Finally at the office, realizing that my parking badge is nowhere to be found
10:45
Post-it on my desk: urgent project to amend and send to the printer before 11:00. No orange juice left. No the left. Croissants are burnt. Crying is one option
10:46
* LIFE IS WONDERFULL MODE ON * is the one I choose
I think about that accident on the highway. I think of that person lying on the floor surrounded by three paramedics, lots of machines, empty medication packs and worried policemen. I feel they won’t make it. I think about Marco. I remember the talk we had with Violetmoon yesterday night. What could I be complaining about ? I’m alive. I’m safe. I’m sound. I remember my great day yesterday. The day before. My four last days have been wonderful. My kid is the cutest and nicest kid ever. He must now be telling all his schoolmates how exciting the waterslides at Aquaparc were, or how chocolate is manufactured, as he has rehearsed it with me in the car. We’ve spent a nice time together in the car after all, and his teacher has been really nice and comprehensive. She loves kids and does the best for them for sure. So do many of my friends. And I’ve got some great friends. After all, I am a lucky person, and this is a lucky day.
For all that, my dear GOLers, enjoy life, and have a great Monday, as good as it can be !

because it means seeing some of my office buddies for lunch, catch up on what everyone else of my friends has been doing .... i like my job and try not to have too many meetings or deadlines so i can take it a bit slower, go the gym ... and start making plans for the week .. and by the time i realize it it's already 7, time to go home, finish the cleaning i left undone if sunday was sunny and lazy ... watch grey's anatomy series 3 (that's why i LOVE mondays!!) ... tomorro's tuesday and if the Tuesday drinks are not on .. something else will come up, Wedsneday is pool .. and then it's basically weekend again ;)
Monday I relax after a tyring weeekend.
Vale - (thou i wish it were sunday again ... lazy me!)

It's always good to have people taking the bright side of life. Your post made me feel good today.
Syd.
PS: Having a paramedic sister also forces your to put "Life is good mode" on, even after only 30 seconds of listening to her day of work (especially around the dinner table)...

I'm feeling I'm having a better day than some as I can see a Traffic Warden placing tickets on some cars across the road from the office.
I actually don't mind a traffic delay in the morning , gives me more time to enter the WRG competitions , althought the kids don't like being late for school.
