2009---A NEW YEAR
Two thousand and eight (2008) is ending
The ending of one year—does it have a deep meaning
If you only think in monetary terms then this past year won’t easily be forgotten
There haven’t been many years in history which in that sense could have been more rotten
Every year leaves memories in our hearts and minds
To some this year’s memories will no doubt be better off left behind
Or put another way they may have found the year bitter
And have given up hope that the New Year could bring something better
The above thoughts are basically those of a pessimist
Life can only have a chance at being better if one is an optimist
To me a new year represents a new beginning
Hopefully making any past unhappiness diminishing
Use the time you have been given to enjoy life more
Hopefully you can arrange it to be with someone you adore
To achieve this be strongly resolved
Do not let your hopes and dreams be dissolved
