A drummer and his camera loose in Rome
I was in Rome a few weekends ago and put together some of my pictures and a few stories about my time there. No travel forum, so I'll put it here! Depending on your sense of humour, you may get a laugh or two out of it (or the GoL staff will refund your full membership fee), and if nothing else I welcome any suggestions for improving the photography. And let's be honest, the best part of reading anything with pictures is if you don't feel up to it part way through you can just look at the colors and pretend the words aren't even there.

You can download it here: http://www.fileden.com/files/26600/RomeStory.doc

Enjoy!

I think it is one city that really changes depending on the weather. It's not well suited to rain, as we've both discovered, and I've been there times when it was almost too hot to breathe, which isn't any better. When it's on, though, I think it may be my favorite city in the world. Glad you enjoyed the pictures!

This great post by drummerboy got me thinking about this, so I'm just throwing this out there. There have been several posts in the past along the lines of:
- anyone know of great hotels, restaurants, etc in XYZ city
- just came back from XYZ city and it was great, let me tell you about it
- anyone know of great weekend trips from Geneva
- general travel questions / comments
Since many people write in their profiles that one of the best things about Geneva is how easy it is to see all of Europe, I wonder if others would use this forum to ask questions and share their experiences. I would be happy to share info from recent trips to Provence, Bourgogne, and Paris...as well as any other places I might go later on. I'd also love hearing about new places to go. Thoughts?

...and I think it could actually work (for the reasons you list). We will also probe for interest via posting a 'news from site admin' question about this.
