Dear All, 

I wanted to ask informally on this forum if anyone is currently unemployed or has been and found it hard to know what to do during that period ? 

Would the following opportunity be/have been appealling:

to work with a local organisation 
for a small nominal wage  (not as a volunteer)
in order to assist the organisation in whatever your field of expertise is e.g. accounting, gardening anything your skill may be
Wiht the side benefits of 
making contacts, 
integrating (if thats what ou desire)
gain a positive reference for the assistance you have offered
Adding value to your local community
and so on

I would be grateful to hear from anyone who has been in this situation and would find this opportunity appealling or alternatively not of interest, with reasons why. My idea is to connect people with organisations who would be grateful to have assistance from skilled people available and willing to be involved in such activities.
