A year in Canada for a 16 y.o.

My daugther plans to spend her 2nd year of college in Huntsville Ontario. Does anybody know the palce or would have suggestions as to how to find a family who'd be willing to host her? This would not be an exchange as I cannot reciprocate. Any information about the school system is welcome. We are leaving this Satuday for a 10 days exploratory trip.

I spent many a happy summer near Huntsville as a child and teen (there is a Girl Guide camp right near the town). While I don't know the town itself all that well as we mostly spent time out in nature, I am from Ontario and am familiar with the school system. Is your daughter by any chance participating in the Outward Bound programme?If so I might have some good contacts for you.

Hi Avril, I don't know anything about that rogram, but from what I saw on the net it may not be what she is looking for. But I may got the wrong impression from the web site and tips are alway welcome. I'll check the Girl Guide camp, thanks.
