Re: American driver's license
Post 1

Ahh, the body got deleted when I pushed post! No way to edit the post on this forum apprently.

Any one had to deal with their American driver's license expiring while living in Europe? I have found a way to have it renewed for five years online, but it won't be valid for identification. Mine expires the 13th of this month, I am just sending the papers off now because my online request failed and they said I need to do it by mail. Any one had experience and knows how long this will take?

I don't have a French driver's license, there was some problems with my file from Clermont-Ferrand and I can't register here because of it. Xenophobia at its best, my immigration file also was never recovered from Clermont. They had to redo my file, luckely being the vicitim of apperent xenophobic sabotage gained me some sympathy and I easily got my 10 year carte de sejour.

It probably has as much, if not more, to do with the famous, sometimes slow 'French bureaucracy'. Ask any French person.
