Would you mind to be more specific? Do you mean 3D computer modelling? These are called "Motives" (in art) or "models" (in CAD world). What is your specific need? People here will be able to give you hints when we understand your need.

Thanks Boa for your reply and sorry that my request isnt clear. What I mean is to have sculptures of people from photograph samples. The sculptures would be small sizes of mostly less than 80 cms high. Is this something that is possible?

80 cm is not small (that would be half the hieght of a human). I assume you mean 80 mm. If so, then you are talking about 3D crystal glass motives, am I correct?

For this 3D crystal glass motives, the technology is called laser subsurface engraving. If my assumptions are correct, then I would be able to help you out. It would involve 3D camera usage or the more tedious 2D to 3D conversion process from a normal 2D picture.
