I used to have two highly unsuccessful blogs, but I have a background in both creative writing and journalism (partially unrelated to what I do professionally, though the latter I was paid for!). I also do a lot of photography. If you're interested, I don't have anything Swiss-centric, but I'm happy to collaborate.

I started a blog when I arrived in Geneva. It was really about trying to capture anything I get up to in a longer form than Facebook and Twitter, and avoid the lengthy emails to family and friends back in Australia. It's also meant to be a platform to feature some of the many photos I post to Flickr.

Based on Google Analytics, it's pretty clear that nobody from home takes much interest in what I'm up to (out of sight, out of mind?). But it's become a useful way for me to record anything significant so I keep plugging away. For some reason, it's always a week out of date.

I'm happy to share any experiences, although I guess to some extent they will be specific to the platform we choose.

I started a blog back in 2006/07 with great intentions of keeping it going. It began as a way to record my thoughts about a family holiday and starting my new career, but quickly fizzled out with the demands of shift work and further study and realising that no-one bothered reading it anyway. I am keen to start again, and have written a number of posts but have not published them as I don't like blogger and want to find a new platform.

Try wordpress, i find it an easy to use format, and easy to remeber to write posts as have the app on my phone and ipad!
