Any libraries in Geneva?

Hey guys,

I'm working on research long distance for an economist back at the States, and I need a really strong internet connection to do my work. Somehow I managed to find the one apartment in the country that isn't wired for internet, so I need to find a public or university library to set up shop. It'd be preferable if this library were open late at night, seeing as I'm still on college time (i.e. do most of my work at 3AM).

Thanks for the suggestions. Cheers!

Helen,

everything here gets closed by 18h .... the oly place where I can think of that you would get that service in those particular hours is a hotel with a wifi hotspot managed by a third party and probably you'll need a subscription to use the service

If neither Naxoo nor Swisscom (all the ADSL providers depend on the landline provided by Swisscom) are capable of providing their services in your location, you should check the 3G coverage. One of the companies providing a mobile internet service claims to have coverage event in the most remote areas in the mountains; and given what they charge for the service, it must be true.

Thanks for the suggestion Pascual... I still can't get used to the 6pm closing times! That's insane.

Do you (or any students out there) know if perhaps the University Libraries are open late? I'm still a student, so perhaps they would allow access?

Thanks,

H.
