Any suggestions?
Is a flower shop better or a pet grooming store better as your next door neighbor in a commercial building?

Any insights would be much appreciated! Thank you very much!

thinking about acupunture's needles, I guess I would rather go for flowers than pets' hairs...  although both are therapeutic :)

Jen: what business do you run? If you sell pet-food, go for the pet grooming. If you sell flower pots, go for the flower store.

HI Nir!

Thanks for your help! It is not that close, it will be accupuncture, a new business. The pet service will bring customers, flower shop also delivers, so probably not that many customers. But pet store might be "dirty"(?), only guessing, do not know. Thank you very much again!

Jen: if the neighbors' store is really close to you, the barking from the dogs might bother your clients.

Yes indeed Jen ..

It's just sort of sarcasm to say neither is preferable or both are same

There was a craze some time ago in the USA / UK etc with those silly questions.

Some of your clients may have an allergy to pollen... (Will the store have a display outside?)

For John's advice - it seems not much choice - another potential business next door might be a foot massage store. But this might be somewhat competitive for customers - one regular massage, one medical massage (more expensive) plus accupuncture.  Difficult!

Hi Casuistik! Thank you very much! Did you mean the pet store has a display or the accupunturist clinic? Accupunture can treat/help allergy.

What you really want is a hypnotherapist who treats the fear of needles.

You'll probably get more passing trade from the dog groomers' since they tend to be used by people with both free time and money.

Dogs never make a noise at the doggie salon, in my experience, because the owners organise them to avoid conflict (there's never a waiting room full of dogs) and the dogs enjoy the pampering.

Thank you so much Andy C! It is very helpful to know this situation. Do you happen to know that this type of business might do damage to the room/building/construction itself, such as hair damaging the drain system, or uses a lot of water?.....any consequences?

I only have experience of attending dog salons, not running them, so I can only speculate as to their impact.  My impression is that they are, by their nature, very clean and well organised.  You should probably go and visit so you can see how they operate.

Florist. They already have an established business so they will most likely be the ones who know thier shop in this new location will work and will be less likely to not pay rent or move out after a short time. It's quiet, pretty and has passing trade which are most likely women who will be more interested in acupuncter than men.

The groomer would probably not be good because of the barking dogs that will disturb the peace of the acupuncter treatments going on.

The foot massage will go out of business soon.

No fear for needles when you really suffer from pain and need accupuncture badly. :)

Why do you say the foot massage will soon go out of business? I tried it once in China, it is really good. If they make it affordable, the business should stay. But for this business, they are required to install a shower facility on the premise, these people do not want to pay for this "extra" expense, so they will not rent the place, so this is not a concern right now.
