Though I probably can't make it here are a couple of suggestions in/near 1207:

Place des Eaux Vives - there is nice bar right behind UBS bank, has outide seating as well as inside. Just aim for the bus stop Place des Eaux Vives (outside UBS) or bus & tram stop Rive which is 1 minute walk away.

La Bodega - Rue des Eaux Vives - This is 200m from Place des Eaux. It is a winde and tapas bar on a corner with tv screens, inside and outside seating BUT there are plenty of alternatives around it depending whether you want somewhere quiet or busy.

The one at Place des Eaux vives is a better bet for a group of you as it is a little queter which allows you all to hear each other and make some noise of your own. If the group is small you may want to go to the busier places around La Bodega or choose L Bodega itself.

BTW near La Bodega is an italian with its own clay oven for pizza etc ... pizza are not bad at all and of course fresh.

Enjoy

@gautham first, i see you are new here, so WELCOME! Welcome to Geneva and welcome to glocals!

And I applaud your efforts to get out there and meet people through glocals, but usually it works in a slightly different way, namely, you post an activity in the Things To Do section where you specify the place, time and reason. This way people can sign up and indicate if they will join you.

But, posting something in the forum at shortly after 18.00 will be harder because it's late and not everyone reads the forums. I know your post has two goals: get suggestions about where to meet and also to actually meet, but personally, I don't know where 1207 is, so that wasn't much help.

I suggest the following. We're in the middle of World Cup. Tonight at 20.30 there is a match between Spain and Portugal (is it possible for *both* teams to lose? <wink>). Go out to Mr. Pickwick (route de Lausanne, about 10 minutes from the train station) or The Clubhouse (rue Philip Plantamour) and join several hundred fans watching.

On your way, take note of the bars, cafés, restaurants, etc. and then next time, post an activity to discover one of them.

Again welcome and have a great evening!
