Anyone else doing National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)?
Is anyone else in Geneva doing NaNoWriMo?
http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/faq

November is just around the corner and anyone can complete a novel in just 30 days. Any creative writers in Geneva want to chime in? Let's organize and help each other through the long literary winter.

I'll organize a theme drinks next week if I get a few replies.

The idea is to form a small group to meet up with once the Mo starts in earnest. I dunno... drinks, certainly.

Maybe we go out for drinks? Scratch that: we definitely go out for drinks.
Maybe we do a preparatory "what you need for NaNoWriMo" checklist?
Maybe we play an exquisite corpse style word game?
Maybe we each come WITH our NaNoWriMo premise and we help each other outline? Or brainstorm from several premises and get opinions?

Any of these sound especially tempting?

I'll be participating!  It's my fifth year.  I'm flying home to Boston halfway through the month, but I can meet up sometime before the 20th.

Spectacular! A four year veteran! You're to be congratulated Anna S! I've got one prior NaNoWriMo novel under my belt, and one ScriptFrenzy screenplay. And I too am faced with the unique challenges of mid-month travel (Thailand.)

I've been thinking -- what if we changed this thread to "WHO WANTS TO WRITE A NOVEL IN NOVEMBER" then got together late October and lead a "snowflake method" exercise? Start from the very beginning--everyone brings 3 ideas and we basically spend 2 hours creating a pitch/outline/mini-treatment that everyone can take home.

Helpful/Unhelpful? Instructive/Pushy? Fun/tedious?
