Anyone going to the Lake parade in Lausanne?
Hi boys and girls,

The word is that this saturday there will be the biggest party in Switzerland...named 'the' Lake Parade. The thing is that it is in Zurich, but it shouldn't be a problem because there is suppose to have extra trains and stuff...

Although I never been there, it should be a great party. So, anyone's going or would like to share an experience about that?

.. are you sure you want to miss out on the fireworks this Sat here in our own backyard??

...parade \(^_^), fireworks (^_^)/... tough choice /^_^\...

If you do go to Zurich, I just hope it's not like the Lakeside Parade in Geneva last month, because I found it was quite disappointment. Definitely not something I'd travel all the way from Zurich to see :)

I'm quoting a fan, but many people concur:

"Zurich's Street Parade is the most colossal, colourful and crazy techno parade on the planet. A magnet for party people worldwide, with an estimated 1 million participants and spectators. About 30 "love mobiles" from Switzerland and abroad take the 2.40 km route bringing house and techno sounds to hundreds of thousands of party people.
Under the motto "elements of culture", the Street Parade is intended to demonstrate the togetherness of diverse cultures and draw attention to the many achievements of countless cultural movers and shakers in recent years. Despite the mega multitude, the Street Parade takes place peacefully and incident-free, much to everyone's joy - including Zurich's police."

It really is a huge event that seems to cause very few problems. Given good weather, and ear plugs, everyone has a good time! Check out the link.

i would've never guessed in a million yrs that zurich/geneva to be such a huge partying cities. thanks for the weblink. the video clips were very enlightening. I'm guessing more people will be in Zurich then. This could be good news, hopefully this means I won't have to fight my way to for a good spot seeing the fireworks in Geneva! :o)

I've been there this weekend and really, there is no comparison between the lake parade (Geneva) and the Street Parade (Zurich). The ambiance is different, the quality of the music, organization, the vibe of the people. I really liked the Street Parade and strongly recommend for those who are in need of a good time.
