Apartment Inspection - Etat de lieu

Hello!

I'm leaving my apartment and I just had the inspection with the Regie. They say they might need to do some works in the apartment (I understood they would have to do some renovations not related to how I "used" the apartment).

Does any of you know if while there are works, I will still have to pay the rent of the apartment? Or will I be released before that happens?

Many thanks!! i really appreciate your answer and wisedom :)

They should wait until you're out of the flat before renovating - the pre move out inspection just gives them a little time to make arrangements for the work to get done quickly once you're gone (they'll lose 2-4 weeks of rent, but the improvements should justify a rent increase, which is a better long term investment).

Depending on what they are planning to do, if they were to do it with you still in the flat, you'd be entitled to a rent reduction.
