Hello Kem and welcome to Lausanne!
I'm in EPFL since last February, but it's the first time I hear sth about GRE score during the application process (I certainly did not have one when I filed my application back in May 2009). It could be though a program-specific requirement; which doc-program are you applying for?
And are you applying for a specific position posted (i.e. on telejob.ch) or for a program in general?

When I applied, I also applied for a program. I'm not sure if that's the case now, but back then if your application was ok, they notified you that you fullfill the typical requirements and that should a suitable position opened (within a year), you'd be among the first considered for it.
IMHO, gre scores should not be a problem. Instead, good references, grades, related experience can make the difference!
Good luck with it :)
