Are 'Forks for Wimps'

Just strange to see a advert on glocals saying 'Forks are for Wimps'. Catchy but insulting. Its should be 'Forks not required'

First Forks are often more hygenic then everyones hands in the shared food, dispite how carefull one is. I know that East african (Ethiopian/Eritrea) cuisine is eaten with a pancake is cultrually a way to bring the family and community together/closer, so I have no disrespect to that tradition/culture. Just I have been with two 'glocal/Geneva online' group that organized an activity dinner at Awash, I was shocked to see that of over 10 persons at the tables, I seen only 3 persons wash there hands before eating.

Just like for any Asian food, the chopstiks are really hygenic and best to use. But it take a bit of time to mastering the use of Chopsticks. Again, I would not say to someone that because you cant use chopsticks, you are then a wimp.

Maybe the 'Wimp' comment is to say something else?

Dave, between the unwashed hands, the kiss greetings, the utensil sharing, the uncovered coughing and sneezing, and the undercooked food (by American standards), Europe should have killed me a long time ago.  Somehow I've survived.

I agree with you, though.  They really should have washed up.

Agree with you: it's a bit peculiar to call wimp someone who enjoys a good fork...

Well i guess overanalysis is appropriate or not too some. But if i said hands is for wimp? Would it take same view or light hearted. Or chopsticks is for the tallented? Would people be offended? Guess u are not a wimp too eat with a group of new aquaintance who dont awash their hands befor putting their hands in your dinner? At least the restaurant could provide hot towels too everyone eating at their restauant? Or if i get sick i will just blame the restaurant for the unsanitory conditions? Arm hair, skin, whatever one touched on public transport is not for whims. i love too over analyse this hehehheehe

I agree with everybody else. Its just a phrase. Get over it. Yes people should have washed their hands but that has nothing to do with buyclub wording

I have never heard of anyone dying after eating with their hands....strangely enough there are loads more stories of food poisoning after eating with utensils :)

Maybe it is wimpish not to try eating with the hands

G____,

hands work good if they can handle the hot soup.

Or just pick up the bowl and sip it down, dont worry about hands, forks or chops.

sounds like too much trouble. why not just put your face directly in the bowl instead? no worrying about hand or utensil hygiene that way :)

Good point Dhamari! Which is the exact reason why whenever I attend any wine tasting events I just bring a 6 foot flexible straw and stick it directly into as many bottles as I can. That way I can avoid any dirty glasses. Smart eh?

Good idea, I will find a 1.8meter straw, where are they?

I think Maxi Bazar has a sale on 1 meter straws, sorry if not 6 foot or 1.8meters.

Rich is the drinking / free drinks expert.

G___ i like the idea to just pick up the bowl and slurp it down.

Free : that is exactly what this is, marketing buzz. Other than people love various germs and bacteria that can build up your imune system before you go to those exotic spaces on this tiny planet.
