Audit trail or any other proof of having changed RSVP

Dear all,

inspite of having changed the RSVP status for not being able to come to an event, a MONTH before it took place, I am being accused of not having informed the person about the changed RSVP status, and having accrued expenses.

Is it not so, that whenever a RSVP status changes from yes to no, that the event organiser is informed about it automatically?

Is there any audit trail proof that the site admin can provide us in case of a conflict situation?

Appreciate all your responses, thanks in advance!

Cheers;

Andras

Andrash,

When somebody changes the RSVP, the organizer does not get notified.
The organizer has to check it manually.

However, you can still go back to past events and check the specific activity that you are talking about and check out your RSVP.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Ehsaan

Hi Andras,

Ehsaan is correct, with one small addition.

If you RSVP Yes for an activity, and the activity organizer marks the activity as 'Full', and then you change your RSVP to No, the activity organizer gets an automatic notification.

Hi Andrash,

the organizer do not see automatically when you change your rsvp to NO. But the organizer can click on the option " Not attending " and can see your name, picture and on which date you changed your rsvp from Yes to No.

For general activities where no reservation is needed is not a problem at all for the organizer when people change their rsvp.

But if it is a dinner reservation, reservation for concert tickets, reservation for group rail ticket, reservation for hotel etc. any kind of advanced resrevation that the organizer makes for those who rsvp with YES, then it could be connected with troubles for the organizer, with costs for no-shows etc. The best is, when you modify your rsvp to No, to send also an email explanation-notification to the organizer, so that the person knows. Otherwise, the organizer cannot non-stop go and check in the background of the settings, who is still coming etc.

If there are people on waiting list, the organizer after being advised about your modification, can give your reservation to someone from that list.

Organizing is sometimes quite complicated and connected with much time investing or unfortunatly also with no-shows and costs.....

Especially by hotel reservations - I work as a travel consultant and can tell you that all hotels require from each guest a personal credit card for the guarantee. If you make a no-show or do not cancell within the hotel cancellation policy, the hotel charges you for the stay-costs even if you never use the reservation. So if glocals member makes a no-show, the organizer has to pay that costs - it is morally and financially not really fair ....

If you have any further questions, feel free to ask me.

Hope, I could help with this.

Sunny regards

Why not let the organizer switch on and off at will, when to receive RSVP notifications? This could be a checkbox at event creation, editable later.

Still.. for potential particitants, an option to "save as interesting, but do not send any RSVP" is misse, i.e. bookmarks.
