Beware: insurance scam (phone call)

I received a call the other day.  It was someone that informed me that I needed to schedule an appointment with him to re-evaluate my insurance plan, due to the recent cantonal changes in the insurance premium, which involved some reimbursment.  In this regard, he asked me if I received the letter from my insurance (which I indeed did).

He wanted to know which insurance I had, which I declined to tell.  When I pressured him to know who he was working for, he said that he was from (some three-letter acronym), Bern office.

It appears that these telemarketing crooks call people and push them for an appointment in person, to "propose" them a change in the insurance.  They clearly take the recent premium reductions as a pretext to fool people into thinking that they represent some cantonal office, and that the rdv is mandatory.

Of course, cantonal offices always contact citizens by paper letter. Avoid to give away any personal information by phone, and don't accept any rdv.

Don't get fooled.
