Hi,
I moved to Geneva 10 months ago and I never reacted to the Billag letters that arrived. It seems that I should have because they continued sending invoices with additional delay penalties. I sent cancellation email on May and they were kind enough to react on that now on start of September. Result was that I have to still pay the months before I sent the cancellation email and also the delay penalties (5CHF each). Other option would be to try to complain by sending a letter and waiting againg months and paying more penalty fees.
In summary, when you move to Switzerland you have to be active and sent email to [email protected] immediattely when you start getting the lettes from them. Otherwise you end up paying or to a long uncertaing fight. You cannot do the cancelling by phone - they will only tell you to send an email with cancellation request and client number.
Good luck!
