I need suggestions for a birthday brunch or dinner. My good friend's birthday falls on Sunday, December 28. Not much happening in GVA during that time. Lots of places are closed. Can you suggest a FUN-inexpensive-good food- place to go for either a nice brunch or dinner in the area or maybe a different idea?
I would greatly appreciate your suggestions. I am scrambling for ideas.

Some ideas for you:
Cute bistro-type place in Eaux Vives that does Sunday brunch is Tout Simplement but you'll need to call to see if they're open next week-end. http://www.toutsimplement.ch/Bienvenue.html
Try Indian restaurants : In Geneva, Little India, Bollywood, or Bombay Café are good, Rajpoute in Ornex (tel. 04 50 40 82 90) is excellent.
Drive to Chamonix for a bit of atmosphere and snow and most restaurants there should be open.
