I am the proud owner of 2 dogs, 2 cats and a lovely turtoise. Has anyone ever attended mass with their pets? Has it ever been done?

I heard about it, I think it was somewhere in Canton Vaud but I'm not sure, I would have to do a search about it.

Now, depending of your beliefs, you can bless your pets by yourself.

There is also a church around Basel where some events take place like discos etc, and I think blessing pets also belong to one of their events.
That the Elisabethen Kirche
If I’m not mistaken, the RC church of Saint Joseph on place des Eaux-Vives in Geneva organized such a Mass a few years back. I think it was held on a Saturday, but wouldn’t swear to that.
Anyway, you could give them a ring to check it out.
You could also ask the John XXIII Spiritual Centre, now on rue de Montbrillant at Saint Nicolas de Flüe, if they ever have a Mass of this kind.
Best, R.

Have you considered the fact that your pets could be atheists?

They could be Buddist, Jewish, Muslim or anything else.
The important thing is to give them the opportunity of a blessing

There is a little town in the south-east of Belgium called St. Hubert [we lived not far away].
Every year, they hold such a Mass for animals. It is so well patronised, there is standing room only inside the church. Outside, owners bring all kinds of pets, including horses, goats, donkeys [of course], as well as the more normal dogs and cats. Goldfish are often present, tortoises and pet lizards. The ceremony is widely recorded in the press in Belgium in both official languages and it is such an honourable and well-loved tradition that there would doubtless be an outcry if it ever stopped. Wonderful to participate.
