Howdy
A number of weeks ago I signed up for Bluewin TV and expected that it would all be setup in about a week going on past experience with other services in Geneva.
It has been a few weeks now and when I called them this morning for an update, they are quoting anything from a further 8-12 weeks to come out and install!!
There are a few components to the setup:
1. New router has to be sent out (done, easy to setup but can’t be used until current basic ADSL signal upgraded to Bluewin TV signal)
2. ADSL signal needs to be upgraded (still waiting quoting a further 4-6 weeks)
3. Techie has to come out and install set top box and configure the system (still waiting quoting a further 8-12 weeks)
Has anyone got this service up and running yet? Does it look like it could be a DIY job if they just sent out all the kit? (They have already said that they can’t do that now but may allow clients to do it themselves in the future)
Also does it work reliably after setup?
Cheers

and it's pretty easy to set up by urself.
The first thing to say is that their timings are very much conservative. I received my router on time (2 weeks after i signed up) and 2 days later the signal has been changed. Then they called me saying that the technician would come in maybe 6 weeks. Buy they called me again after 1 week and now i have it.
So they might come and install it quicker then you think.
Second, if you have the digital box and all, it's not complex to DIY. But in case some small issues happens .. it's handy to have the technician at home.
All in all i love my bluwin tv, it's way cheaper then any other digital tv you can get here, totally worth waiting 4 weeks for me.
Hope it helps.
