Bus ticket Geneva-Annecy

Hello!
I have a few questions for experienced travellers:

1. where can I get the ticket for the bus which goes from Geneva to Annecy? (online / at the bus stop?). I read that it is better to take a bus from Gare Routiere but no information on how to buy tickets. Most all website I came across give the link to www.frossard.eu which does not work...

2. Is it necessary to book the ticket in advance or it can be purchased right before the trip / in the bus from the driver?

Thanks in advance for your help and any information you might have!

Maria

For timetables of services to Annecy and other destination, go to “Gare routière, departures”.

The street address of the bus terminal and booking-office is place Dorcière, which is behind the English Church in rue du Mont-Blanc.

You can buy tickets ahead of departure but it’s best to arrive 15-20 minutes early as booking-office is very cramped.  The staff speak adequate English but are often stressed.

For Annecy and all destinatios outside CH, you need a passport or an ID card.

And as a word to the wise:  there are no public W.C. facilities, which gives the nearby cafés a steady source of income.

Bon voyage!
