Buying a new apple computer ?

I want to buy a new Apple -probable Mac book Pro -could anyone tell me where it would be cheapest to buy ? Duty free at airport or in France  or does it not make a difference? It has to have a QWERTZ keyboard because tht is what I am used to now-any suggestions for other buying opportunities would be welcome.

Thanks !

Hi - I bought my macbook in Switzerland. Not only the easiest to manage in case of warranty, keyboard and service but also the cheapest if you compare prices. Starting price of the Macbook Pro is 1399CHF in CH compared to 1449 EUR (~1560 CHF). So even if you get your tax refunded and pay duties for Switzerland, you would still be better off to buy the Macbook Pro in CH. Btw. even buying it in the US is not necessarly cheaper if you add the US tax to the price.

CH keyboard layout is slightly different from what I am used to in Austria/Germany. However you quickly get used to it and can always switch the keys under settings.

Good to know: Apple changed it's pricing in Switzerland a couple of years ago for all new product launches. It is actually one of the few companies what stopped charging a 25 - 30% premium compared to Euro-land.

Hi,

As you can see in the attached picture, if you order it online from the Swiss Apple shop, you can select the keyboard you want, including the Qwertz or Qwerty etc.. delivered in 1 or 2 days.

Cheers,
