CH expensive? Now always!

In the little village where we do most of our hiking - chiefly along the Bisses/Suonen, there is a 35m2 apartment for sale. So what? I hear you ask. Well, the crux of the matter is that it has a mouth-watering asking price of 35,000.-- So it doesn't have central heating - "Giltsteinofen" and probably needs a vast amount of renovation, but at that price, it has to be a bargain in anyone's book!Laughing

I was just curious but all I can find on this link is a 35m2 flat for rent at CHF 1490 per month which seems expensive.  What have I done wrong?

Yes found it on the site as well.  Would have thought it is a misprint, although it does say can be visiterd at any time which might suggest a wall or roof is missing.  If correct price would appear to be a bargain

Doesn't seem to be a mistake. Just arrived back home in Evian from Ausserberg.

It does need a tremendous amount doing to it but yep, that's the price all right.

Bargain by anyone's standards as I already said. Ausserberg is lovely by the way.

On the Südrampe with fantastic hiking along various Suonen.

Even has a British widow living there........ er, she does have four children though!

I'm sure there is a good reason for the price.  The owners probably want to get rid of the property as soon as possible, and they don't want to put any more money into it because they probably know well how much it will cost to fix.  Just be well informed before you buy, and do an inspection too.  What is cheap now, can come back to hit your wallet with a vengeance later, unless you are into construction and you clearly understand what needs to be done, and have ways of getting the work done well and at a reasonable price.

Don't think so, that is not the reason.

Is it just me, or is anyone else thinking "and your point is"?

If you don't want advice (and Jean-Jacques' advice sounds about right - you're looking at CHF20,00 just to sort out that kitchen) then what's the point of the post?

Sorry - but am I missing something? Frown
