Carry on camping

Hello people,

just wondering if any of you guys fancy a glocals camping night/weekend the 1st weekend in september?

tents, beer, bbqs... what better way to spend time getting to know folk? (that's rhetorical)

Anyone interested?

Soggy sleeping bags? fart filled tents? warm beer? wet socks? bad breath? crapping in the woods like bears do?  dodgy guitar playing and even worse harmonica music? burnt baked beans and cold sausages? girls unable to carry their own rucksacks? trying to burn wet logs in order to heat water for coffee? Waking up with the "worst hair day in your entire life", and with soggy leaves stuck to your cheeks? Slugs and spiders in your damp smelly boots?

Whats not to like about all that?  Sounds like a hoot. Takes me back to my Army days...

What a great idea but am orgnaising my own camping outing that weekend which involves walking up to a mountain hut 1.5 hours, putting in the order for the fondue, walking up to the top of the mountain and back 2.5 - 3 hours.  Eating the fondue, making the traditional swap of two english puddings for an unknown quantity of genepi.  Eventually after copious amounts of wine around 4 or 5 pm people stagger back down to the cars, strangely enough it takes longer to walk down than to walk up.   Those who cannot make it and know in advance 'camp' in the hut and do another walk the next day. All very boring, moutainers and walkers getting drunk and telling the same boring stories that they probably told last year.  What events lists.   Am also organising anopther outing which is a traverse from Barrage d'_Emosson to Sallanches which will involve sleeping wherever we end up - after about ten hours walking no tents just sleeping out.  You will be pleased to know that am probably not putting this on glocals events
