this is really a great place because their food is good, not expensive ( 21 sfr. average spend ) and you always have to reserve because it's always fulll.i've eaten there over 30 times, so they even know me by name! and will always find us a place to sit.believe me, i've tried them all in the area, and they are even better than some more expensive places.

In Lausanne the best chinese is chez Xu. It is on the petite Cheney which is the street that goes up from the train station to st Francois. It is the only chinese restaurant where you will find Chinese people eating.

An enviable location high up in the heart of Lausanne makes a great first impression, though it’s the chefs’ passion for imaginative menus that make this restaurant stand out.

Chez xu is probably the best in lausanne. They have two location. One close to Riponne on rue du tunnel and the other on petite chen as jonathan mentioned.
The tunnel location is the older one.
Both are pretty good.

If you want REALLY good value for money, come over this side! There are two Chinese restaurants near here where you can eat as much as you want!!!
One is situated in the Cora Centre in Amphion and is called "Shanghai" [no surprises there] and the other one is right opposite Thonon-les-Bains station [just changed it's name but you cannot miss it].
In the former, at lunchtime you can eat heaps for €11.80 - the other is slightly more expensive. Both have wok service. Bon App!

Epicure, you're forgetting its 'sister' restaurant (or rather 'brother'): The Emperor, just 50m away around the corner, next to Crédit Suisse.
Same owners, same cuisine, but more room inside + they have outdoor seating during the summer months... Enjoy! ;oP JT.
