Chamonix guides tend to rush up and down becasue they have to take someone up the next day and they must be bored stiff doing it almost every day. I can give you some emails of Geneva based guides who if they cannot do it themselves could recommend. does it have to be an English speaking guide. The advantqge of doing it with a guide who does not go up every day is that the guide will enjoy the outing as well and this should rub off on the client

Thanks so much Paul, your suggestion sounds good. It can be in French, not a problem at all.

Next question becasue some of the guides have ordinary jobs - is it a weekend can he propose alternative dates to coincide with good weather. Is it just him or is there more than one person. Does he want to do the standard route up and down via the Gouter hut or from the Aiguille de midi over the Mont blanc de Tacul and the Mont Maudit or up the original route via the Grands Mulets - it might of course depend on what the guide thinks.

He works for himself so he can go anytime, during week or weekend is fine.
At present it is just him, I am not good in altitude, but ideally I'd like to find a group for him to go with.
Regarding route, he has no preference. He is fit but has not done specific training.

Will send you a list of guides and email addresses tomorrow
I could be interested in joining, if possible. I'm currently not super fit, but am OK in mountains (I don't have any gear, though).

Cool, I'll keep you posted on what I find out.
Paul, could you please send that list to me as well. I am also interested in that.
Thanks!

Hi people. Will try to get the list out today. But in the meantime pls bear in mind FerneyL nobody is organising a climb up Mont Blanc.I am just giving info to help people find guides based on the intitial message in this thread. £Alos check out my thread on insurance in the mountains under either mountain insurance or alpine insurance. Note also that Chamomix guides try to sign you up for a full weeks acclimatisiation which usuallly involves a day on the mer de glacedoing crampon training and rescue techniques then two days to goup the Aiguille de Tour plus something else mand that puts up the cost but does make the climb up Mt Blanc easier.

Thanks for the list. I initially (mis-)read it as a trip.
