Commuting to Geneva

Hi all,

given the hard accommodation situation in Geneva, I've been thinking living elsewhere and commute to work everyday. The main reason to do this is keep expenses under control and shorten the time it takes to find a decent apartment. I don't really feel thrilled about this as I barely know 1 or 2 people in the area and they live in Geneva. I think if I live in the countryside or in a small village it will be harder to make new friends.

What is your opinion about this? Do you have any experience commuting to Geneva? Do you know someone that does?

Thanks in advance

Pascual

Quite a number of people commute from here {Evian-les-Bains} and also from Thonon on a daily basis to Geneva. They either drive [sometimes difficult] or take the train to Eaux Vives. Accommodation is plentiful hereabouts and very, very much cheaper. Take a little look on the various agents' websites. Loads of apartments for rent. Good luck.
