A small group of (1) Glocal member(s) wants to organise a dating evening.
We (I) take care of the organization, location, jury, assessment, judging, topics-of-conversation (me), (1 max, cheap but maybe strong) drink, etc, etc,.... only thing you have to do is participate in the date with (or without) a team or show up as public in case you want to learn or you are interested to date. Now that's easy, right? :)
The date will be held according the international date rules and standards, so everyone knows what we're gonna be up to. Especially for people who have heard of dates but never been on, witnessed, or attended one, this a nice opportunity to learn more. Date rules will be explained and you can see how the host come up with his arguments, methods, etc. and judge for your self if they were convincing enough for you. (they will be, don't worry).
Of course the venue will have a (cheap) bar to keep the inner (and outer) person happy :D and at the bar is room enough to 'discuss' as well ;)
By posting on this forum we (I) want to gauge the interest (for both participants and audience) before we commit ourselves to organise a location and all the 'stuff' that comes with it.
Please let us (me) know if you are interested, preferably as participant or audience, and give us (me) your thoughts on this forum topic. You can also reply with an email to me if you already made up your mind and want to attend [you have, haven't you. go on, admit it!] :)
Thanks all,
Matt

Let's not forget, just cuz we've surpassed 29,000 members, Glocals is 'still' not a dating site. :satisfied:
So, anyone want to take a bet on whether there'll be a 30K party? :)

You see, I appreciate Arnovd's attempt to take us all high-brow, really I do. It takes a lot of balls to try and succeed where so many others have failed. But really, you've just gotta give the people what they want. Lowest common denominator, that's where the money is.

I know...I guess any social website can be a sort of a dating site!! If you place an ad of going to the cinema or for drinks etc and someone's interested then it could be called a date but entirely depends on ur definition of a date :-).

I would advice anyone who is attempting to accept this challenge to first read the handbook ”Dating the Hayes: dos and don’ts”. I didn’t, and see where it got me.

Gorgeous idea, should be unforgettable evening :w00t:
about dating, the best solution is to organise 2 groups of different ages, like 23-32, 35-45, then make kind of speed date, 5 mins for each person, equal numbers of men and women, voila, maybe it will work :D
hope... so... :hehe:

Anyway, all I wanted to say is, I am pretty sure a lot of members have met women/men from glocals and prolly found their loveydovey here. I am very much sure of that, because I have seen and heard it myself. Knowing this is not a dating site (although 48% of the members are single and darn good looking, well educated, multi-lingual with matching great professions... i'm giggling already :P) to meet a member is a lot easier, after all it is not a "date" just having a drink or two after a long day of work. Become friends if you don't like the person, lovers if you like each other (ja ja... I can see that smirk in your face :P) ... so yeah.. this is really NOT a dating site.
Alright, I better go and have breakfast...

A man sees a georgeous woman sitting alone in a resto, so he sends her a note with the waiter. The note asks if the woman will go out with him.
The woman gets the note, and writes back to the man:
"I will go out with you only if you have a million dollars, a yacht, and a 9 inch cock".
The man gets the note, reads it, and writes back to the woman:
"I have a million dollars and a yacht. But I'm not cutting 2 inches off my cock for anyone!"

haha the reason most women would drink that much is because of the frustration they get from men who gives less (NO) effort when they show up on a date, bringing cheap wine, no shower and no shave. So yeah, women need that much drinking...

Hmmm... that point is kind of hard to fathom. So your claim is that women drink so much because men bring them stuff to drink. So if the cheap wine were a bad thing in the eyes of your typical woman, you would expect them to prefer not to consume it, no? Since the essence of wine is actually in its consumption. If they take the cheap wine and neck it -- straight from the bottle, for most of the women I know -- that's hardly going to make the guy buy something better next time, is it? It's as if women secretly want to be given rubbish. I think there's something suspect in your reasoning. I mean, cheap wine, look at it this way: (1) not much money (2) woman gets drunk. Everyone wins! No need to even bother shaving.

surely you mean cranberry juice? ;)
Yeah. Cranberry juice. Plus whatever was in the little bottle you kept in your bag. When you unscrewed the top, people could smell it on the other side of the room. Did you make it yourself?

Ah but some girls want to date slightly older men!
Yeah, but only girls under the age of 32, in my experience. After that it kind of flips around. Girls are so shallow.

32? that's very precise! so if i understand you correctly hayes, you're saying that women over 32 wanna date younger guys?
Correct. This is just an observation I have made, I doubt it holds for the (major) subset of the population that has not met me.

I agree! You don't need a stupid love coach. But everybody could use a few pointers, that's why folk should come down next Wednesday. The difficulty is that it can be a little hard for some people to let go and accept themself and those around them. What you say is right, but at the same time it's like telling someone to "lighten up". Saying it is one thing, but sometimes people need to be shown the way. Some people need to be encouraged to reach BAC=0.07% and that is where I come in.
On Wednesday I can assure you there won't be a stupid love coach in sight. I look forward to seeing you.

Hi Andy. That's more-or-less what glocals is already, except a bit heavier on the benefits than the friends. The STD clinics around Geneva were full to capacity last week and since then there has been a beach party, a river party, and a Tuesday Drinks. I would imagine they are breaking the doors down right now.
The reason I'm doing this is to try and change the tide a little. Make people see that there is more to life.
