What are the prices? How long did it take for you? Is it really painful? Any "side effects"? What happens after the treatemnt, do you need to waer a retainer?

Hi, I would also be interested in these questions. Would be great to meet someone with first-hand experience with Invisalign..

Hi I just started treatment in Geneva, price ranges from 4 - 7k- I have not expreienced any pain just tightnees and a bit of a lisp. Treatment length and price is dependent on the severity of the case . As with all orthodontic treatments, you will need to wear a retainer afterwards but only at night. My orthodontist is Dr Mona Board and so far i have been very happy with her. You will get a video of how your teeth will move before you start treatment- i was happz with the end result - straight teeth and a wider smile.

Many thanks for these information - very helpful! I am happy to hear that your treatment is going well so far.
I am planning to start treatment in Geneva as well, so thanks for the recommendation. I am a bit worried about visibility. Can you easily see the orthodontic braces? Do you feel comfortable having braces on the job?
Best,
Fabian

Thanks for sharing your experience! Good to hear that you get used to the braces and feel fine having them at work.
Would be great if you could let me know how it is going once you have the attachements. I have heard about this, although I am not quite sure if I would need them. I had an initial discussion with an orthodontist in Germany a few months ago and he did not mention anything about attachements.
Cheers,
F

I've been wearing one to close a gap in my front teeth since sept 2012, i had 3 imprints and changed the brace every 3 months. I was qouted sfr2500 max. It was less. However the gap just opens up so after a day so i've had a fourth imprint and a thicker brace with different pressure points...let's see.
I was quoted more than sfr7000 by another dental clinique near Nations.
Pain? Uncomfortable for an hour or so after each new brace was fitted but nothing to worry about. No side effects but i would advise removing the brace before a telephone conversation - "ethpethially if you have to thpell thomething"

Invisalign does not affect the speech and is sligly visible but does not solve all problems. You have transparent or white braces in the front of your theet that doesn't affect the speech and are less visible than the normal ones, then you have braces in the back of the theet does not affect the speech neither but they are more expensive. I was quoted 17.000 chf for a whole treatment.

I have just completed my invisalign treatment that I started 2,5 years ago with Dr. Dahlquist in Nyon. I am quite happy with the result, although initially I was promised it was going to last only 18 months, and in the end it lasted a lot longer. THe good thing, I didnt experience any real inconvenience. For eating and other important moments you just take them off and put away for a few hours. Just put them back later. This wont change anything. The bad thing is while the lower jaw can be easily fixed after aligning with a small metal string, for the upper jaw there is no fixing option, so you have to keep wearing the upper aligner for another year almost permanently, then you can gradually reduce wearing it to "only at night", year 3 "every other night", etc... They dont tell you that in the beginning.... Now I realize it might as well last forever... well, I have to say I am used to them by now 100% and nobody sees them anyway. ))

Laura - where did you go in Geneva? Do you recommend your orthodontist? I have had a first evaluation for my son but I was quoted 9k chf for a 2 years process. Has anyone else have the similar experience, is this the normal price in Geneva?
Thanks!

I am about to finish a treatment that is almost identical with Invisalign. I go to Mark Harris - an English Orthodontist (he had some clinics in GB). He is in Lucinges which is a small village near Annemasse/Ville la Grand, France. As he combines the orthodontic treatment with osteopathy the body can accept the changes in a better way. His wife is a cranial sacral osteopath, so it's ideal. Both give conferences in Europe. So they are really professional and aware of the effects that such a treatment can have on the body - it's not only that your teeth are moving, your spine etc. will be impacted as well.
I was searching a long time for such a combined treatment and they are much cheaper than in CH. I paid 4500 CHF for the appliance plus the osteopathic sessions.
The appliance is hardly visible. During the first 1 or 2 days you might lisp quite a lot but then it disappears. If you really have an important meeting or conversation, than you simply remove it.
If you just have teeth that are not very well aligned, you can use the transparent appliances. But if your occlusion needs to be corrected, than you will have to use braces. I had to do this in the first stage of the treatment. And to my surprise, people reacted very positively. So no fear!

I meant the osteopathic sessions were not included in the price.
Thank you very much just_me for your detailed reply.
I will check if any availability on Saturdays, as I work it will be difficult to manage during the work days from Geneva. Look forward to that.
