Dining Outrage
I have already posted a review in the city guide, but I was so outraged and disgusted by what happened in a restaurant today, that I want as many people as possible to know about this restaurant, and to save them the ordeal I and some colleagues endured.

I was in Eaux Vives with some colleagues looking for an affordable place to have lunch, where we came across 'Chez Manu' a pizza and Italian restaurant, 38 rue du 31 decembre (on the corner of rue du nant) We entered was shown to a table, as we were ordering the waiter decided to walk away, we waited 10 minutes, then tried to politely catch the attention of the waiter so that we could finish ordering. So one of my colleagues raised one finger in the air and said 'Monsieur, Sil vous plait' which is a polite way of saying excuse me sir. The waiter then came over to our table, and exclaimed he was a man, not a dog, and would not be treated so rudely, and that he knew his trade, we then explained that this was an acceptably polite way of attracting a waiters attention (My colleague is Suisse, and has lived in Geneva all her life) to this the waiter told us to leave the restaurant which we did, and in which I exclaimed my disgust and as he was walking away clicked my fingers calling him 'Garcon!' I then asked 'are you the manager?' His response was no, but we actually found out from another restaurant, that he is in fact the owner! If this is how he treats his clients, I shudder to think what legacy he displays for his staff to follow.

I highly and strongly dissuade anybody from eating at this restaurant

Unfortunatelly I am afraid he will stay into business .. have been living just in front of this place for the past 4 years and the place has always been there. Always the same crappy service ... and always empty (or almost). Don't know how he manages it but that place has been weird for years ... :S

Ah, so it's just a typical money-laundering business ;-)

We've got lot's of these in Zurich, too.

If you want to get rid of him, maybe contact the tax-authorities.
