Direct action to help flood victims in Pakistan.

Hello Glocals Members,

My friends and I have organized relief efforts for flood victims in Pakistan. We are graduate students/scholars from the US and Switzerland who would like to help. We have decided to buy and ship water filters.
Please see our link here:
http://waterfiltersforpakistan.chipin.com/water-filters-for-flood-victims-in-pakistan
This is a spontaneous, informal direct aid initiative. 100% of the donated money will be used to buy and send filters. We are volunteers and we will not use any of the donate funds towards administrative costs. To contribute, please click on the "ChipIn!" button to the right. You can use a PayPal account or a credit card.
Here is a link for the water purifiers we will ship:
http://www.sawyerpointonefilters.com/point-zero-two-purifier.php
Two of us are already in Pakistan to receive the units and install in relief camps/shelters etc.
You can contribute even 5 CHF if you want. Droplets make an ocean.
For questions please contact us at:

I am trying to raise some money for poor children in Africa and Asia and in current situation it is very likely that money will go to a project in Pakistan.

Thanks Jasper...

I feel it is important that we as world citizens directly do things to ameleorate the problems we face collectively. With the effects of global-warming looming above us we need to tackle these problems at the citizen level and this is not the last one!

I urge people to think of solutions, and act as much as they can and not rely on governments and NGOs to do it all.

Kilmator, i hope the money you raise is distributed well. Sometimes money is not the solution but what to do with the money is. Thats why we decided to ship water filters. There is only one use for it... purifying water :)
