Hahaha! As soon as I see an all-white, all-American, spouting about our information being sold to "well, China, India and RUSSIA" - like it's the end of the world and we're all going to die......
I smell a rat.
Here's the counter-arguement for Snoopwall's hidden agenda. The very last sentence of this report will make you smile.
Just make sure you don't share it with those Commie Ruskies, as they're coming for your children!!

Oh boy Jeffrey
Every time I read something like this, I revel in the fact that we do not have a mobile telephone. WHAT....... I hear you say.........you must be the only people in the civilised world not to have one.
Don't miss what you don't have.

Good on you Shelia...more power to you. I am heartily sick of seeing crowds of people talking to a phone instead to each other !! Given that, I do own a phone but more for a contact point for my wife and son and also to listen to Aussie sports radio bleating when the Kiwis dick them in something !!

I don't have a mobile phone either, alhough I do agree there are occasions when it would be useful.
But I manage to cope nontheless.

So it’s just as well that I can’t afford one of those either.
I might be able to run to a broomstick though.

There's a lot of fearmongering in the video. Let's clarify:
There are many apps (not only flashlight apps; for instance, QR code readers) that collect needlessly a lot of your personal data. This data is then sold to companies to profile you. The risk here is the loss of your privacy, so avoid these. Unfortunately, shady apps of this kind are hosted on Google Play and the Apple Store, because they are not plainly malware.
Other apps are pure and simple malware, and - besides harvesting your personal data and send it to companies and criminals - will infect your phone with trojans, overcharge your phone bill, and perform other nasty activities. Google Play and the Apple Store are supposed to be malware-free (even if sometimes there's an app that slips through the net), so you should be safe unless you unwisely set your Android phone to install apps from non-official sources. Only if you got infected with one of these apps you'll need to factory reset your phone.

If flashlight apps spy on my email, how many other Apps do the same thing?
