Do you speak English? phone scam
Jul 19, 2006 @ 00:31
Received a few calls from different middle-east sounding people lately asking if I spoke English. One claimed to be from "my phone company", others just go "hello, do you speak english" before hanging up upon receiving a response. I guess this is the beginning of a scam and these people have a bunch of mobile numbers which they're canvassing. Probably I'll soon be offered mystery prizes, debt relief, viagra and breast enlargements by SMS or cold calling. As this is my swiss phone I suggest if anyone else with a swiss mobile gets a similar call they just give a non-commital "non" and hang up.
