Driving Mr. Hayes...
Does anyone know what happened to the activity Driving Mr Hayes? It's not under the activities anymore, although the date was for Aug 1.

Mr Hayes; where you inundated with offers? (Too many to choose from..:w00t:) ) Or did you change your mind?? :ermm:

Oh, come on, it's not that hard to figure out! Someone organises an attractive and popular event that clashes with a Sindy party. Those with admin privs notice the flood of glocals mail in my direction and they start panicking that nobody will show up on the beach to it's "Ooops, where did that one go? :Whistling: Oh well, can't be helped."

It's a pity really. I'd convinced this really nice woman from the embassy to open specially, just for 15 minutes at 8am on Saturday. It doesn't matter so much, I'll just go the night before and stay in a hotel. It's just that a sting operation would have been much preferred; I hate Berne.

Hold it, hold it, hold it, everyone. Sorry, I realise my previous post may have presented our mods as a bit totalitarian.

Apparently, they realised my plight and were actually trying to help by giving my activity what's known to insiders as The Yellow Treatment. So it stickies to the top of the list and is more visible. Unfortunately they pressed the wrong button and the activity was accidentally lost forever. Just like good love-coaching thread and every post by armeddolphin. And then the email they sent to explain and apologise got lost and ... well, I'm somewhat ashamed to say that I assumed the worst.

Well, that's the story. I'd put the ad back but I've already booked the train. Move along, folks. Nothing to see here.

OK, since I'm being inundated with requests to see the post, I'll whack it up here. Now please stop bugging me about it.

On Saturday I have to rush early to Berne to sign some documents and am unable to drive myself. None of the scheduled trains will get me there in time and I'm looking for someone to drive me from Geneva. On the way back we have to stop at that large IKEA outside Aubonne to pick up some essentials so your car would need to be rather large. No SUVs though, please, because it's embarrassing to be seen in one of those. After we have dropped the stuff off at my apartment you will drive me to a large supermarket across the French border because I hate paying those extortionate Swiss prices for no food. Not too far, don't worry; the one in Ferney-Voltaire will be fine.

After dinner you will drive me around various bars in Geneva. I haven't quite decided which ones or the order just yet. Plus it depends on what my friends want to do so I'll probably give you the details on the night. I don't mind walking a bit, but if the weather is terrible then you will be expected to drop me off and pick me up at the door. I appreciate that this may seem a little one-sided and that your time may be valuable, so I will of course pay you with a drink or two. No more, though, because afterwards you have to drive me home.

Please contact me via Glocals mail for my home address and sat-nav coordinates should you need them.

If you're that way inclined, I'm also prepared to offset your carbon by buying two energy-efficient light bulbs.

Guys:

We deleted the post cos it clashes with our Beach Party on the same day, and we don't want any competition to the party!

Seriously, we did delete it cos we received several user complaints saying tha a 'driver needed' post belongs in the Market-Place area, and not in the Member-Activities area. It made sense.

I believe it is simply a lack of sense of humour, some people just do not understand, I was chatting with a young woman who actually believed that Hayes was a love-coach !![/quote]

I am a love coach!!! I've got a certificate to prove it! It was me that got Minda and gkellum together, FFS, what more evidence do you need?

Saying Hayes is a love-coach is like saying I am a hair coach!

(my head looks like this:
