I am absolutely itching to play! I'm looking for a group of musicians who can throw together a few sets of cover tunes in a hurry and get out to play a bit. I want it to be something fun, friendly, and solid.
My plan is this: practice enough to get things in stage-worthy shape, but start getting together with the aim of heading out and actually playing where other people can hear, sooner rather than later. Personally, I'm a rock/country/folk guy, but open to doing some blues, some pop, some (simple) jazz, a little R&B... done my share of hard rock when I was young and angry, so I'd probably rather pass on that and hip-hop is really not my thing, but whatever you're into, why don't we give it a try and see what flows?
I have practice space set up for electric/electronic instruments with headphones (horns = police, sorry...). I already have my e-drums, a bass, and a not-quite-old-enough-to-be-vintage keyboard, and a mic rigged and ready to go, so if you're a bass/keyboard player or singer you don't even need to bring gear! If you're a drummer, put up your own ad ;-)
Okay, for me it's easy to do this in a hurry (kick, snare, kick, snare, right?), but if you play well, already know a few tunes and would like to get out and make some music, let me know. I guess if you have an ego that's no larger than your annual music income that will help us all in the long run, too.
Looking forward to making beautiful (if platonic) music together,
Darryl
