E-bike rental

Hi. I was always bikibg around Geneva and since a year I have an e-bike.

It changed my life Laughingin a way that now I bike everywhere and anytime regardless the distance or trafic.

I'll be away for a half of the year and I'm considering leaving my bike to someone who would like to test an e-bike against a small rent. But I'm a bit hesitant about it's safety since it's worth 3000CHF.

What do you think? Should I propose it for rental? Would there be an interest? How to protect myself from a fraud or a demage?

Hi Anushka,

If space and security is not a constraint don't rent out. Smile

Cheers Leslie

Generally it is not bad idea to rent the bike only if you got allready the 'right' person, other wise it'll might be a problem. In addition, if you decide to rent the bike what kind of contract you will use? From my point of view it's better to keep it for your self :)

Well, what are the main 'threats' ?

How to define if the person is 'right'? I thought about a person who already uses a bike in the city (or arrived from another city where she/he had a bike) and would like to experience an e-bike before considering buying it.

I'm a kind of person that believe in sharing with a mutual benefit and I find it a pitty to have a bike stored for 6 months when it can be useful to someone.

At the same time I'd like to get it back in a good shape. :-)

just a tip, you might consider an insurance on it (which might cost u like 80chf for a year, and cover up to 2000chf)....
