Easy golfing near Geneva

I sent mails, called clubs etc but it seems like it is very difficult to find a nice club in Geneva or around (even France would be ok) which is not overexpensive for a student (in Germany there are very low rates for students whereas here I have the impression they do not support them at all).

Does anyone has suggestions where to play?

Hi Jennifer,

I agree, golf is very expensive in Switzerland and except on few golf courses, I've never see lot of kids or students... For your special need, I will ask to a friend of mine, a former pro at Bossey; he probably has good informations to give... I'll circle back to you within the next week

Hello,

I would recommend Mornex Golf (just outside Annemasse on the way up Le Saleve).  it's super cheap and is a small short course, that is always fun if not always 'easy'.

Have fun.

Bill,

Jeniffer asked where she can play GOLF.... not bringing a pitchwedge and a putter to a pitch & putt place  :P

Jennifer,

In Les Rousses there is Golf du Rochat and they have a special rate for under 21's and for etudiants. Golf du Rochat is a full 18 holes course and the restoraurant serves delicious rainbow trout :) If you want to go there some time just let me know. Always looking for golfmates here in Gva.

See link for pricelist: http://www.golfdurochat.com/site/1/fichiers%20pdf/Golf-Rochat-Tarifs-Green-Fee-2010.pdf

Cheers,

Arno

if youre near the Vaud side try Divonne les bains...nice 18 hole course... open club, ie no membership although you can buy it. Youll need a french handicap card though.

Only french hcp card???

I believe they have to except all national hcp cards of EGA members (provided they are member of the French Golf Association of course)

Yep, me playing with this bunch of people too :D

The membership for the IGA is really nothing, I believe not even 100 USD a year; however you have to pay the greenfees on the courses that you play.

So it is always depending on the courses.

So, promises are made to be kept... Here is the recommandation from a friend who has been a pro for several years in this club

http://www.golf-vieille-batie.ch/golfvieillebatie/Accueil.html

He told me that the driving range and the pitch & putt are in good shape and the price seem to be friendly.

Hope it helps !

If some of you are around Lausanne and look for people to play with, feel free to contact me

I play here too, you can get for quite cheap a practice membership, or pay 5 chf everytime you go. The balls cost 5 chf for a bucket.

There is also a small compact 9 holes couse (each is around 80 to 130 meters more or less), for around 30chf (to do it once, for the whole day it's around 50).
