My cleaner has just been dianosed with serious gum disease however she cannot afford the exhorbitant prices that dentists usually charge for treatment in Geneva. Does anyone know of an efficient but reasonably priced peridontist? She will need some extensive work apparently so cost could be pretty hefty.

I wouldnt expect to find anything in the bracket of "cheap" without flying somewhere, but Saint Julien have about a million dentists right on the border.
Prices are very reasonable versus here depending on what you get done and on return to the UK, my dentist there was v impressed with the work (take that how you will).
A root canal was ~50-70 Euros total including scans. I think that is the price to walk in the door in geneva...
The prices here are scandalous. I had to have two crowns due to being elbowed in the jaw during a football match, and it would have been cheaper to fly to the Uk for each and every visit, rather than be in Geneva to do it. 6 flights plus dental costs was less than the dental costs here.... by some way. Mad.
I'd shop around but if thereneeds to be a lot of work... maybe dental tourism?

Thank you very much for the info. Would you mind awfully sending me the contact details of your dentist in St Julian where you only paid 50 to 70 euros for a root canal. This is amazing. How do Swiss dentists get away with charging such exhorbitant fees! Years ago I had two crowns done here in Geneva and paid around 3000 francs however the work was of exceptional quality and they are still going strong today so all in all I am quite pleased with them.

To be fair this was almost 5 years ago! but still I dont expect prices to have tripled in that time.
I had 2 crowns done with him and it cost 1600 EUR, and they are also going strong despite being elbowed in the same spot a couple of times since (3 yrs ago)

FYI for those who are scared of the dentist - from multiple female friends who I have passed onto him: he is pretty damn easy on the eyes too. Apparently it helps with the anxiety hahah
