Erotic 'Massage'.

The term' massage' is used left and right from people without scruples to attract a certain clientelle and news papers are saturated with this kind of adds!.The problem is that 'massage'is not a protected term like 'physiotherapy 'or else is.The simple truth is that it gives a bad name to 'massage' and to practicionners. All ready in France therapists can no longer use the term 'massage' on buseness cards!!!,therefore wrong targeting the guilty ones and penalizing the massage therapists,so I invite you to help all therapists by not using that term in referal to sexual activities,as it is anything but a massage and by correcting people around you. Mike

I find it rather polite to use the term 'massage' when referring to certain activities. What would you suggest changing it to?
For example, when jerseyboy tells me he's just on his way back from his bi-monthly massage-parlour visit, I don't mind, and I know exactly what he means. However, I'd be rather disgusted if he started telling me exactly what he had been doing in his local massage parlour as opposed to just referring to it as a massage! Plus he can tell his flatmate that he goes for regular massages and she won't get suspicious.
Actually, it's probably less of a problem in switzerland as other countries since prostitution is legal......ie the ads in the local papers specify the massage speciality quite explicitly so there's no confusion over what you're going for when you turn up!

Well noted Hully. The term might be polite indeed but dishonest as the person is hidding behind this.If prostitution is legal then let him say he's going to see a prostitute.Frankly and I will be blunt it is not my problem nor the therapists(I realise I speak in theyr name)what I would call it.I been practicing massage professionaly full time for 6 years now and there is a huge difference between massage, fellation and masturbation and else. And I wish you were right about the adds on news papers, but it isn't so,and that's why I put this add here. When you see an add that says'Pretty nurse, for serius massage'it means what it means.I stopped putting adds and so did many of my femele collegues as we were getting too many weird phone calls.
