Migos banks are quite good for this. They are in various places in the canton. use google if you dont know of one near

You could try a classified ad on Glocals, WRS, ricardo, anibis, or petitesannonces.  Someone might be going to the uk and need to buy gbp.

Zahra, it depends on how much money is involved.

Migros gives you GBP for your euros, but they indeed calculate the amounts by making a conversion via swiss francs. They might still give you the best rate in the end. You can always walk to the counter and ask how much they would give you for your euros and decide how that compares to other options.

Some French banks will exchange your euros to pounds, and will just have to do some shopping around. If you go to Ferney Voltaire, there are several banks within a 100 meters radius, so you can find out within minutes. In Anemasse they are probably more spread out, but I suppose you can make phone calls.

If you do it with an unknown individual, you take your chances.
