I need to get an eye exam tomorrow, by an optician or a eye specialist (whatever is the less expensive will be just fine.. thank yoU!) for the drivers license.

You may go to Manor. There is one optician at the ground floor. I think you will have to pay CHF 20 and you will get necessary documents.

Any opticians - the main thing you have to tell them is that it's just for the driving licence and not for a full eye test.
I paid 40 francs 3 years ago before I joined glocals - Bummer!!

you don't need to go to any specialist, any optician will be fine. I just did it last week at a "Visilab" and it was 20 chf, but again you can go to anyone you like.
Make sure you bring the form with you because they will have to write and stamp the same paper you will then have to bring to the OCAN, so if for example you needed to exchange your foreign licence with a Swiss one you'd need this form: http://www.ge.ch/san/doc/0015.pdf

HI All, I know its alittle further away from the original topic but i thought id post this on her to avoif making another forum.
I did the eye test etc and now have enrolled for the ENGLISH theory exam in Bern in December.
Has anyone done this before? (i mean in CH and in English)
Anyone have any pointers for me. Ive done the one in the UK years ago.
Also, where can i purchase the book? Or perhaps one of you loverly poeple has one already and can lend it to me. I promise you will get it back + a drink/ coffee for your kind gesture.
