FREE SNOWBOARD AND SKI LESSONS in Verbier this weekend

This weekend the European Snow Sport school ( English owned thus fluent english speakers) are offering FREE ski and snowboard lessons to all Glocals people - please see the link below for details - just give them the code -  GV1 - ( Geneva 1) and you're in. All details at link below.

I was in Verbier  last weekend and getting a lift pass can take some time, so leave yourself enough time to do this so you dont miss the meeting place! And if you have to hire skis and boots allow 20 - 30 mins too.

Happy skiing and snowboarding!

PS - If you dont have a car you can take the train from Geneva to Martingy and then change to Le Chable where you can buy your lift ticket and then take the eggs up to Verbier - Train ticket is 48 chf each way unless you have a half price ticket - ( possible when you buy a yearly pass for 150 chf which gives you half price on all train tickets for a year.) Daily lift pass is 67 chf for adults - less for children. If you are interested in car pooling and sharing expenses post a thread here and see who you can connect with! Good luck!

We are sooo lucky to live so close to the slopes!

Thanks for that! There'll be other opportunities - and of course you can crack skiing - just need some good conditions, a good teacher, good material and the belief that you can do it!!

I will be in Verbier this weekend. Do you know what level the lessons are for, it doesn't say on the page that you linked. I would be interested in advanced snowboarding. Cheers.

Hi all,

Just seen this. I may come along to this on Saturday. Anyone in Geneva or lausanne interested? I may drive so may have space. I'm a beginner snowboarder by the way!

I'm interested, in Lausanne, and also a beginner snowboard!  Any chance I could hop on with you?  I'd need to rent equipment.

Yeah that sounds ok at the moment. There is a chance I may go to Thyon 2000 (one of the 4 valleys in the same area). There wont be the free lessons but I am wondering.... if many people take the free lessons they may be useless due to crowding. Thyon should be a lot quieter than verbier too, although I have never been to Verbier so could be interesting.

If you are about Friday night in Lausanne, could meet up for a beer somewhere in Flon (depending what time I get  back from work). Could decide then where to go Snowboardin'.

Hey all,

I'm in Verbier this saturday - may see you there for a free lesson!

I have a lift up there and back but I dont have room to take my skiis and boots - I wonder if any one has room in their car to kindly take up for me?  I will then leave them there at a friends place so they will stay in Verbier, no need to return with them...

Much appreciated, thanks so much!

JO :)
