Feedback - cablecom HD digital TV or Sky?

considering hooking this up but thought I would ask how people who have ordered it like it. Also wanted to know if the German/English stations (such as National Geographic) are bi-canal or broadcast in one language or the other.

The other option is installing sky...

After nearly 15 years of the standard Swiss offering I have been convinced by interested parties that it is time to expand the channels, so feedback and opinions are welcome.

cablecom digital hd is a lot cheaper than sky and requires no dish antenna or receiver. the cablecom hd box ( with recording option) offers the best value for money. However, that said, a digital satellite tuner with all the free to air channels and small dish antenna is just a one time cost of 3-500 sfr. and that's it ! the national geographic and discovery channels are pay tv channels on sky, and i don't believe they are in english on cablecom. you can get them in french via satellite, but you need to buy a card ( still cheaper than sky )

be careful, the low end cablecom receiver ( 6 frs per month) does not use a digital connection (HDMI) to the new digital TV's but the "old" scart connector, so your picture is not HD although your tv may well be an HD tv.

also, cablecom now offers a 2 for 3 deal. get the 3rd service for free ( i.e. digital phone and internet you pay for, the digital hd tv is then free.....according to their publicity)

personally, i would select satellite.......but i'm a fan, it was my profession for 7+ years.
