Female singers needed for small classical acapella ensemble

Hi there,


I am putting together a very small, all female vocal ensemble (possibly a quartet) to sing celtic/medieval music and also to dabble in some Andrews Sisters type jazz stuff. Two very different genres, I know - we remain flexible as to which we end up focussing on, depending on what works best! Just for fun at first, but open to being more ambitious if it works well....


We are looking for one or two more singers who have plenty choral and/or solo experience at a competent level,who make a nice sound and can read music. You don't need to be a perfect sight reader, just musically literate, able to sing well and as enthused by the project as we are!

I don't really fit the criteria completely but I'm interested in being involved as a vocalist.

Sorry Lizzy!  Good luck in finding the right interests in Zurich, there's got to be some like-minded people over there, its a great city. :)

Have you tried using the Forums to find a group?


You could also ask at Zurich’s English (Anglican) church.  Maybe someone in their choir will be able to help.

I do have 8 years of musical school - piano specialisation (with both choir and solfege lessons of cause). So I can read music sheet, and so on.


I like this music style and would like to join your ensemble

thanks a lot ritchie, lucy and dorothy  :) I know zurich is a great city with a lot to offer, but it happens so often, that a super activity is announced on glocals and – surprise, surprise – it's in geneva. I don't know is it murphys' law but sometimes these are the "aww"- moments to me :D

It could be that the very size of the international community in Geneva inevitably widens the choice of events on offer as well as their promotion.  There’s healthy competition!


Be that as it may, I thought I’d also mention two other groups that might be of interest to you (if you don’t already know them) viz:  the English Theatre Group in Zug and the Zurich Comedy Club (for theatricals).  They both have websites.

I've just moved here after graduating from Exeter the summer just gone and I used to sing Soprano in a Madrigals group. Before that I sang every year in my school's chamber choir from the age of 11 and I was having singing tuition aged 9/10. I really miss it and i've been looking to find a group for ages since coming here a month and a half ago. Your group's repertoire just sounds ideal for me! I love celtic and medieval music as well as the close harmony arrangements the Andrews Sisters did! 


Please let me know if you're still meeting up and are interested in aquiring an extra Soprano!
