I had my wallet stolen on the tram yesterday and have to file a police report. Can anyone provide me with some guidance on where I can do this and how the process works? Thanks for the help!

Walk into any police station, wait for your turn, and then tell the police officer as many details about the incident as you know. He/she will ask you lots of questions. Takes about 30 minutes.
The main challenge is finding a police officer who speaks English, so either be ready to use your best French or take someone who speaks it.

One point to check out is if the wallet was found, you can go to the cities 'Lost and Found' at http://www.ge.ch/objets_trouves/
Just describe the date and time, then might just luckely have in in there stock of stuff turned in. I know many people who got lucky as they got back the basics, not cash but the rest. Good luck

What Edward said, they have a standard form that they fill in with date time location etc and list of items in the wallet. Also, if you had any items in it with your name printed and you are a resident, no need to go to lost & found, if somebody turns it in they will notify you.
Sorry about your trouble Cass and always watch your belongings in public areas. I think I heard that statistically your wallet is solen every two years in Geneva.

Catalin, your wrong about if turned in they will notify you. Like if found in TPG or La poste box, they just send to the Lost and found, and dont give to the police. Only question is does the lost n found when they get it, do they call???
