Finishing Things

I am passing this on to you because it definitely worked for me today, and we all could probably use more calm in our lives. Some doctor on TV this morning said the way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started. So I looked around my house to see things I'd started and hadn't finished. So I have managed to finish off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Presstage, a butdel ob Chardonnay, a bodle of Baileys, a butle of wum, a pockage of Prungles, tha Mainder of bot Prozic and Valiuminun scriptins, the res of the chesescke an a box a chocletz. Yu haf no idr how bludy fablus I feel rite now.. Plaese sned dhis Orn to dem yu fee AR in ned ov iennr pisss. An telum,U blody luvum!!

Re: Finishing Things
Post 1

Hi

I can relate to that topic,

a few years ago when i thought psychology was the answer to everything

i read a book called "unfinished business", and guess what i never finished

reading it..it was a huge book full of stories about people who never finished

working on their "issues"

it took me some time but i actually got to the conclusion that i will not be

continuing the Freudian legacy and so i took up with an artistic life

sometimes getting distracted but yes, i know it was meant as a joke but

one should definitely finish things, and by that i mean that if something does

not work like a stupid hopeless thread in politics one should step off the train

heading towards a brick wall and get off, that is one way of looking at those

issues we dont leave finish.

some times you got to call it quits and continue somewhere else

does this make sense?

i have a cheesecake by the way but that i will leave unfinished in case someone might crave my baked goods..

some things are better left unfinished : cakes, wine, whiskey

some things are just better left: arguments that lead no where, a bad marriage

and other things will just finish you off if you dont finish them and close the

door

Dear David,

thank you so much for sharing Laing, i am familiar with his writing and have read "Knots". i am also aware that the man had quite a lot of baggage and it is so refreshing to see someone in the mental health profession use such layman terms and yes, well, one has to let go at one point and finish , as the Italians say with much more charm

"Finito la comedia"

or" Basta "

When i studied therapy the professor often said

"you can choose your friends but you cant choose your family"

too often we carry with us like turtles the weight of the world on our shoulders

As i was leaving the coffee shop this morning i heard the beatles song

"Dont try to carry the world upon your shoulders"

I am a great believer in the beatles philosophy, and yes, it is wise to leave

some situations undone, unfinished, walk away, and never look back

In the bible there is the famous story of Lot's wife who was told never to turn back and look at the city of sodom burning, she did and turned to a pilar of salt , so what is the conclusion?

turn and never look back

sometimes finishing means to not look back
